Manufacturers that fill cans sometimes place a plastic lid over the sealed can, allowing the can to be re-sealed after the metal lid is removed. Veldkamp developed an “overcapper” machine for this purpose.
Strands with caps are placed in a Jacob’s ladder, and the strand with caps is guided over two rotating shafts towards a chute. The cans are accelerated under the chute by side-grip belts. The can picks up a cap, which is pushed firmly on the can by a roller.
This entire machine, from sketch to delivery, was provided by Veldkamp, and has been running for years at a satisfied customer.
